During the Winter DeviantArt is 'covered' by a curtain of digital snowflakes. Not all of them are the same and not all of them are equal in quality.
This shot is different for me. Starting with the background, you can tell the subject was not 'stolen' out of it's environment. The natural winter colors express the freezing temperature that you had to take in order to capture this image.
The subject itself is captured in a truly stunning way. The detail is close to perfection. What may be a little disturbing to some people may be the fact that multiple snowflakes 'interfer' with each other, even though it's fantastic to seperate the snowflakes from each other with your own eyes.
For me this stunning work of art is one of the pictures that defines it's own style and is not the 5000th picture of a random snowflake falling down.
Woah. This is absolutely amazing, and a great piece of work. My favorite part is most likely the beautiful, magnificent purplish violet color taking part in the background. The main snowflake really draws attention to the blockish, polygonal segments of the snowflake, making your eye think about what's really happening in the photo. I love how there is only about one snowflake focused, with the rest of the snow deep in the background, slightly blurred. It's amazing. I can't express this enough. If I could make this a daily deviation I would, no doubt. Totally, utterly, completely, exquisitely, amazing. I love it.
